Priscilla Presley believes her family is 'cursed' after Elvis' beloved nurse dies at 98

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: Priscilla Presley is mourning yet another loss as one of her last connections to her late ex-husband, Elvis Presley, has died.

Marian J Cocke, the 'King of Rock 'n' Roll's personal nurse, died in early March at the age of 98, marking another heartbreaking moment for Priscilla, who lost her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, less than two years ago.

Marian J Cocke played a vital role in Elvis Presley's later years, caring for him both at Memphis' Baptist Memorial Hospital and later as his live-in medical caregiver at Graceland.

Despite his well-documented struggles with prescription medication, Cocke always maintained that she was unaware of any illicit drug use contributing to his death in 1977 at the age of 42.

"I never noticed any kind of abuse or misuse of drugs," Cocke had insisted. "If another doctor had prescribed other drugs, we were not aware of them."

Her unwavering support for Elvis made her not just a nurse but a deeply trusted member of his inner circle.

According to Radar Online, Cocke was deeply loved by Elvis and his family.

"Although she was only eight years older than Elvis, he saw Cocke as a mother figure, especially since he lost his own mother, Gladys, in 1958," a source explained.

"He would have been embarrassed to ask for medication other than the high blood pressure pills she gave him."

After Elvis' death, Cocke remained close to Priscilla, becoming like a family member.

She was so beloved that Lisa Marie and her daughter, Riley Keough, reportedly considered her an "aunt."

A source close to Priscilla shared with Radar Online just how significant Cocke was to her. 

"Marian was a great link between Priscilla and Elvis. She shared wonderful stories that Priscilla enjoyed listening to. It's a heartbreaking loss for her, especially as there are so few people left alive from those days," they said

Priscilla has endured immense grief in recent years.

After losing her beloved daughter Lisa Marie in 2023, this latest death only adds to the sorrow.
