Authorities seek Wes Scantlin for airport weapon allegations

While investigating Wes Scantlin, officers discovered he had an outstanding warrant for a different crime, as per TMZ.

Sources indicate that authorities had been on the lookout for Wes Scantlin due to allegations that he was carrying a weapon at an airport.

When officers requested Scantlin to step out of the car, he flatly refused. Despite multiple attempts, he remained uncooperative, prompting the involvement of a crisis negotiator.

TMZ sources revealed that officers then deployed pepper spray, but it proved ineffective.

As a result, SWAT was called in around 4:00 am. They broke the car window and shot non-lethal pepper balls, finally compelling him to surrender and exit the vehicle.

Scantlin was taken to the hospital to have his eyes flushed from the pepper ball effects but was otherwise unharmed.

Following this, he was booked for the outstanding warrant and charged with resisting arrest. He was cited and released, with a court date scheduled for August 20.
