THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS: A brief video clip from the recent NATO summit is lighting up social media, with many claiming it shows Queen Maxima of the Netherlands subtly mocking US President Donald Trump right to his face.

For those catching up, Trump visited the Netherlands earlier this week to attend the annual NATO summit, held June 24–25.

During a photo op at the Dutch royal palace with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, cameras captured a few seconds that have now gone viral, fueling widespread speculation that the Queen mimicked Trump's distinctive mouth movements in a quiet but pointed gesture.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands is at the center of online buzz after a video surfaced showing what many believe was her subtly mocking Donald Trump during a photo opportunity.

The video shows Trump standing between King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima at the Dutch royal palace, Huis ten Bosch, where he was hosted instead of staying at a hotel. The three posed for the press, engaging in a light exchange about Trump’s stay.

“This is a picture we want,” Trump said with a thumbs-up. Then, King Willem questioned Trump, “I hope you slept well,” to which Trump responded, “It was great."

“Thank you very much,” Queen Máxima said politely before turning slightly and, in a moment that has sparked endless social media debate, appearing to mimic Trump’s mannerisms. She stretches her lips, tightens her face, and flicks her tongue, gestures that closely resemble Trump's speaking style. Trump, seemingly unaware, showed no reaction.

He concluded his participation in the NATO summit on Wednesday, June 25.
