Quinn Ewers called ‘smart young man’ as he wears Trump tie clip ahead of College Football Playoff game
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers made a political statement ahead of the College Football Playoff game by showing up at the statum wearing a tie clip emblazoned with the name of President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday, December 21.
According to Fox News, the Longhorns were hosting the Clemson Tigers in the first round of the College Football Playoff at the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Texas.
Among his sharply dressed teammates, Ewers stood out in a navy blue suit with white pinstripes paired with a red tie and gold tie clip. On the clip was engraved the word 'TRUMP'.

Quinn Ewers has been open about his support for Donald Trump
Like a number of professional footballers in the country, Quinn Ewers had also been open about his support for Republican nominee Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.
Shortly after the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania back in July, Ewers reportedly shared the iconic picture of Trump holding his fist in the air.
He also shared a graphic of Trump and his running mate JD Vance on his Instagram Story with the caption 'Legendary,' after the GOP nominee decisively won the presidential election last month against his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Athletes have been more public in stating their support for Trump after he won the election, with many performing his signature 'YMCA' dance moves on the field in celebration.
On Saturday, Longhorns defeated Clemson 38 to 24. They move ahead to face Arizona State in the Peach Bowl on New Year's Day.
