Rachel Maddow slams Trump's pity for Prince Andrew
On Monday, MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow highlighted how 79-year-old Trump reacted to King Charles stripping his brother, 65-year-old Prince Andrew, of his royal titles and lodging.
Trump said, “I feel very badly. I mean, it’s a terrible thing that’s happened to the family. That’s been a tragic situation, and it’s too bad. I mean, I feel badly for the family."
Maddow pointed out that Trump showed no sympathy for Epstein’s victims.
“To be clear, Trump is not talking about the families of the kids who were molested and raped by his friend, Jeffrey Epstein,” Maddow, 52, said. “He is talking about how sad he is that another one of Epstein’s friends got in trouble with his own family for being part of it.
She introduced the topic with a sarcastic remark about Trump being a “man of the people” with an “acute sensitivity to the sentiments and instincts of the common man.”
The MSNBC anchor also highlighted Trump’s White House bathroom renovation, his Great Gatsby-themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago, and the widespread criticism over his demolition of the White House East Wing to build a 90,000-square-foot, $300 million ballroom, which he reportedly plans to name after himself.
Rachel Maddow accuses Trump of plotting to interfere in 2026 midterms
This isn’t the first time Rachel Maddow has called out Trump. She recently accused him of laying the groundwork to interfere with the 2026 midterm elections and warned that his plans go beyond simply trying to win.
Maddow said Trump is already urging Republican lawmakers in states like Texas, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, New Hampshire, and South Carolina to redraw congressional districts so Republicans stay in control, no matter how people vote
She said, “Trump isn’t just planning to win; he’s planning to rig the game entirely.”
Maddow continued, “The census is how we get congressional districts. If Trump can nullify the existing census by, for example, blaming the counting of immigrants or some other factor, he can lay the groundwork to claim that all the existing congressional districts in the country are somehow wrong and can’t be used, and therefore, we can’t have congressional elections using the districts we now have.”
She added, “Trump also appears to be trying to establish a pretext for nullifying or delaying the midterm elections everywhere, demanding a new census and claiming the old one shouldn’t count.”
