Radio host Jay Weber pulled off air despite apology for derogatory tweet about Tim Walz's son Gus
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Conservative radio host Jay Weber was taken off air after backlash for his derogatory tweet targetting Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz's neurodivergent son Gus Walz, as per Raw Story.
The I Heart Radio website said Ben Yount was replacing the host for 'The Jay Weber Show'.
In a now-deleted post, Weber called the 17-year-old Gus a "blubbering b**** boy" for his emotional reaction during his father's speech at the Democratic National Convention on August 21.
He deleted his post on X (formerly Twitter) after immense backlash. However, Milwaukee County Supervisor Shawn Rolland shared a screenshot of his remarks.
The radio host had written, "Sorry, but this is embarrassing for both father and son. If the Walzs represent today's American man, this country is screwed: 'Meet my son, Gus. He's a blubbering b**** boy. His mother and I are very proud'."

Jay Weber apologizes following backlash over his remarks on Gus Walz
Gus Walz, who has ADHD, a non-verbal learning disorder, and an anxiety disorder, stood up, tears flowing from his eyes as the Minnesota governor shared his family's fertility journey. Being at the peak of his emotions, he jumped up, sobbing, and said, "That's my dad!"
Weber penned an apology statement claiming he did not know Gus was "disabled," adding he had been challenging the Minnesota governor on "substance and character" since he became the VP candidate. Weber added that Walz was a "congenital liar" who destroyed the Gopher State in many ways.
He later deleted the apology post.

Weber then came up with another apology without naming Gus or the Democratic VP nominee.
"This is a fuller apology for something stupid and hurtful I said yesterday. I said it without thinking or having the facts. No excuses," he wrote on X. "Having been a teacher, I've had a standard of never involving children, I broke that, and I'm disappointed with myself. I apologize to...."

Right-wing commentator Ann Coulter also attacked Gus for his emotional DNC moment, labeling him "weird," but later deleted her remarks after backlash.
Internet slams Jay Weber over his remarks against Gus Walz
Outraged at Jay Weber's response to Gus Walz's behavior at the DNC, netizens welcomed the radio team's decision to pull him off the air. At the same time, they slammed him with some suggesting that he should be fired.
"He needs to be fired, not just pulled off the air!," a user wrote.
"Good and I hope he never gets his job back, his wording was cruel, hateful, and so disgusting, it physically hurt to read those words and to think he was talking about a young person who did absolutely nothing wrong but show emotional love for his father," another remarked.
"@JayWeber3 and his likes should become persona non grata at any news outlet. If he had one shed of decency he would never have said something so vile in the first place. Something, something consequences," read a response.
"As it should be! Attacking this kid for loving his dad is just plain disgusting and way below the line," added one user.

"He's tried to walk it back, but what makes it even more egregious is that he says he was a teacher himself. People need to decide now what kind of person they want to be," someone else opined.
"I do not understand the GOP. They talk a big talk about having children, pro-life and the bash a loving family and a young man who loves and is proud of his father. It is truly baffling," an individual said.
"He still has free speech - he can now be as ignorant and vile as he wants just without the advertising and paycheck," another user added.
"This is so egregious, he doesn't even deserve a redemption tour. I don't want an apology and all the learning and growing he's going to do about neurodivergent people. I don't want to hear it. He said hateful, horrible things about a child," read one remark.
