LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The late rap mogul Irv Gotti suffered a “massive hemorrhagic stroke” while eating Chinese food ahead of his death, his brother Chris Lorenzo shared during his appearance on the Thursday, February 20 episode of the podcast '2Way'.
Born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr, Gotti died on February 5 at the age of 54, reported Page Six. His representative shared that the music producer had been struggling with his diabetes diagnosis for years and had a minor stroke in 2024. Chris Lorenzo opens up about Irv Gotti's lifestyle
In his podcast appearance, Chris Lorenzo shared of his late brother, "He’s 54. I believe he was diagnosed in his late 40s. But Irv doesn’t go to the doctor so that’s why he’s so late being diagnosed."
"And when he finally did go get a real physical and a check-up, they were like, ‘You’re diabetic', and he didn’t believe it," he continued.

Lorenzo, 58, noted that Gotti had Type I diabetes, as did their father who died at the age of 86.
"And when we talk about this topic, I watched him suffer the least three years of his life. So it’s about quality of life,” he noted. "We all have to go at one point in time we just really wanna go on our terms. And Irv, sadly enough, he did go on his terms. He just didn’t believe it and he was like, ‘I’m going to go the way I wanted'. He ate a bunch of Chinese food while playing poker and had a massive hemorrhagic stroke, which is bleeding on the brain.”
