'Really great friend': Internet lauds Elon Musk as Tucker Carlson admits X and Tesla CEO 'saved him' after Fox News ouster

TAMPA, FLORIDA:  Tucker Carlson, who was fired from Fox News in April this year, recently expressed how he was "saved" by Elon Musk's platform X (formerly Twitter) while in conversation with conservative host Benny Johnson. 

As the journalist recalled a phone call he had with the Tesla CEO after the ouster, he expressed his gratitude to the platform, which apparently paved the way to launch the 'Tucker Carlson Network'.

Tucker Carlson opens up about Elon Musk and X 

During his talk with Johnson, Carlson noted, "Basically, it started on X. So I got unemployed again, not for the first time, in April. And you know, I’m not that old, and I have a lot of opinions that I was wondering what to do." 

He continued, "And an hour after that happened, Elon called me, and said that you know, you should just bring the whole operation to X, not for pay, but just use it like anyone else would."

Carlson stated, "You know, with the guarantee that he’s made to everyone that this is not going to be governed by censorship and you can say what you think, as long as you’re not committing a crime. That saved me. That really saved me." 

The former Fox News host admitted that because of the social media platform, he was "able to continue working within days."

Carlson then went on to speak more about this new adventure, saying that the past seven months on X (formerly Twitter) were "liberating" because no one could call him and tell him his job was "on the line."

Internet praises Elon Musk over Tucker Carlson’s remarks

After Carlson spoke to Johnson about his experience on X (formerly Twitter) and his new endeavors, people rushed to react to the same as love and praise poured in for Musk, as well as the former Fox News host.

One wrote, "The transparency we all have received from the likes of Carlsen, Musk, Ramaswamy, etc. is unparalleled...Thank God for the freedom of speech and for the strong men who uphold it."

Another claimed, "This is the reason why the Biden Administration is going after Elon. He has allowed this platform to have Free Speech in a historic and heroic way."

"I am pretty thankful for @elonmusk and for @TuckerCarlson. They give me hope," said a person and someone else noted, "X may eventually start a movement that awakens America to fight to save it."

An individual opined, "@X is the future," with one more expressing, "Wow! Sounds like a really great friend. I need to get some like that..."
