Toby Keith left a big void with his death on February 5, 2024. The music icon was 62 years old and battled stomach cancer for several years. After his death, some of his fans and country singers remembered him and his songs fondly. 

1. How Do You Like Me Now?!

‘How Do You Like Me Now?!’ came out in 1999. It was part of Keith's album of the same name. The number reportedly topped the Billboard US Hot Country Songs chart for five weeks in March 2000.

2. As Good As I Once Was

‘As Good As I Once Was’ instantly became a fan-favorite after being released in 2005. The song held the number one position on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

‘Beer for My Horses’ was part of Toby Keith’s album ‘Unleashed’, which set a record by reaching #22 on the Billboard Hot 100. The hit number was “about justice, but more so about the law of the Old West." Keith said about the song, "It truly depicts how I feel about our justice system today."

The 2002 song was also from the album ‘Unleashed’. It addressed the tragedy of 9/11 and Keith expressed in one of the lyrics, “You'll be sorry that you messed with the US of A / 'Cause we'll put a boot in your a**, it's the American way.”

‘Should've Been a Cowboy’ was Keith’s very first song, which was out to the public in 1993. The song was part of his debut album of the same name and within months of its release, it hit #1 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs. It also ranked top on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks charts.

The 2011 number was sung by Toby Keith and written by Brett Warren, Brad Warren, Brett Beavers, and Jim Beavers. It was part of the late singer’s 2011 album ‘Clancy’s Tavern’. Keith reportedly once said about the song, “It is the stupidest song I ever heard in my life, but it’s so stupid it’s good.”

This song is also one of the many firsts of Toby Keith. ‘Wish I Didn’t Know Now’ was reportedly about love, longing, and loss. It got featured at the number two position on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

The 2003 song ‘I Love This Bar’ became an instant hit among music lovers and went on to rank number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. It held the position for five weeks. The late singer even started his restaurant chain business after the song’s name, Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill.
