MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: The family of Renee Nicole Good has hired the same legal team that represented George Floyd’s family to lead a civil investigation into her death. The law firm Romanucci & Blandin confirmed it is now representing Renee's partner, parents, and siblings as they seek answers and accountability following the shooting.

In a statement, the firm said Renee's family wants her to be remembered as “an agent of peace” and is demanding a clear explanation of what happened that day. The attorneys also said they plan to release the findings of their civil investigation in the coming weeks.

Good’s family hired Romanucci & Blandin after federal authorities declined a civil rights probe, even as the FBI investigates and protests continue. Renee, a 37-year-old mother, was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minneapolis on January 7.

Romanucci & Blandin vow to provide transparency in Renee Nicole Good’s fatal shooting

The Chicago-based firm’s founding partner, Antonio M Romanucci, is representing Renee's partner, Becca Good, along with her parents, Tim and Donna Ganger, and her siblings.

"People in Minneapolis and across this country truly care about what happened to Renee Good on January 7, 2026, and are committed to understanding how she could have been killed on the street after dropping her child off at school," Romanucci said in the statement, as per Fox News. Not just one, but Minneapolis attorney Kevin Riach of The Law Office of Kevin C Riach has joined hands and is serving as co-counsel.

"We are committed to providing Good transparency and Good accountability, which we ultimately hope leads to Good policing. We will be that voice," Romanucci expressed. "(L)egal action against the federal government is even more complex, as it requires victims to navigate the Byzantine, time-consuming processes mandated by the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA)."

According to a statement shared with Fox News Digital by Romanucci & Blandin, Renee's parents called her the "beautiful light of (their) family" and said she had a "seemingly infinite capacity for love." In 2020, the firm secured a $27 million pre-trial civil rights settlement for George Floyd’s family, one of the largest in US history.

The law firm also handled the case of Sonya Massey, who was shot by a police officer inside her home in Springfield, Illinois, in 2024. They won the case, which concluded with a $10 million settlement against the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department.
