NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congressman Carlos Gimenez from Florida joined co-host Pete Hegseth to discuss the chances of a large-scale migrant influx from Haiti on the Saturday, March 16 episode of 'Fox & Friends.'

While bringing up the subject for discussion, Hegseth reported that 25 Haitians were intercepted while entering the state in a boat. They were carrying weapons, drugs, and night vision equipment, Florida Gov Ron DeSantis stated at a press conference.

Carlos Gimenez accuses Biden Administration for inaction

Pointing out that the chaos raging in Haiti was the primary cause of the arrival of migrants, the US Representative for Florida stated, "We could see this coming a long time ago, and the Biden Administration decided just to sit it out, hope and wait that the thing would resolve itself."

"It hasn't resolved itself, and now the consequences could be felt right in my hometown in Miami," he shared, before supporting DeSantis in his efforts to keep Florida safe.

Gimenez also spoke of the Biden administration's plan to use Guantanamo Bay for housing Haitian migrants seeking asylum before they are processed to enter the US.

Carlos Gimenez calls for order to be restored in Haiti

While Guantanamo Bay is capable of processing a large influx of migrants, Gimenez said the administration should focus on resolving the unrest in Haiti first.

"We need to take care of the problem," he said, adding, "The problem is in Haiti. Somehow we have to get a multi-national force ... and restore order so that they can set up a government that is stable."

"They need to round up all these gang members that are in Haiti basically ruling the country right now, and put them in jail and put them away so that Haiti has a chance to survive."

"Right now what I see in Haiti is really troubling for our hemisphere," he mentioned, later adding, "With migrants who are trying to flee for their safety, you're also going to see gang members coming over into South Florida, and now we have the problem of Haitian gang members ... very violent ones, here."

"We need to help Haiti get back on its feet again ... to protect the United States of America," he concluded.
