NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joyce Randolph, well known for her role as Trixie Norton on ‘The Honeymooners', died on Saturday night, January 13.

The star was 99. Her death was confirmed by her son Randolph Charles, TMZ reported.

Joyce Randolph had old-age issues

The publication citing Charles also noted that the veteran actress “died in her sleep. She had been suffering from the effects of old age ... unable to walk".

Joyce was reportedly the last surviving member of the main cast of the 1955 television show, which ran from October 1955 to September 1956.

Joyce Randolph didn't get much work after Trixie Norton’s role

In her own words, she remained famous as Trixie for several years after the show ended.

In 2000, she reportedly shared, as per The Guardian, “One year while (my son) was in college at Yale, he came home and said, ’Did you know that guys and girls come up to me and ask, ‘Is your mom really Trixie?’”

“I guess he hadn’t paid much attention before then,” she stated.

However, being Trixie also cost her other roles. Joyce shared with the Orlando Sentinel in 1993, “For years after that role, directors would say: ‘No, we can’t use her. She’s too well-known as Trixie.’”
