TEHRAN, IRAN: Maryam Azarchehr, a television anchor for Iran’s state-run broadcaster, broke down on live TV while announcing the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei after a major attack by the US and Israel. As the crying anchor continued in anger, she said, “Trump is going to pay a price paid by no American president of all time! Revenge is coming!”

She also said that President Donald Trump will pay the ultimate price for the actions he took on Saturday, February 28.

Iranian state media confirmed that Khamenei had died a day after the strikes began. The announcement sent shockwaves across the region, raising fears of escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Crying Iranian anchor breaks down on air, warns of impending revenge

Maryam Azarchehr, the anchor on Iran’s state-run TV, completely broke down on air while delivering the news. Referring to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as the “Leader of the Islamic Revolution,” she warned, “Revenge is coming. Revenge is coming soon. They will see what they have done.”

She continued, “Today the devils of the world will celebrate and everybody they have managed to brainwash.”

“This is not over. Trump is going to pay a price, a price paid by no American president at any time, paid by no Z*****t, paid by no criminal of all time,” Azarchehr expressed.

Azarchehr paid an emotional tribute to Khamenei, praising his leadership and ideals. “He stood for the children in Palestine. He stood for the children in Lebanon. Today, those mourning him will be the orphans across the world,” she said.

She concluded with a historical comparison, “Imam Khamenei will go down in history as did Imam Ali.” Azarchehr added that retaliation would not come “only from the millions of Iranians” or “resistance countries,” but also from those “who have newly joined the resistance, Americans, Europeans, who saw the legacy of Imam Khomeini against Z*****m.”

US and Israel strike Tehran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei confirmed dead

On Saturday, February 28, the US and Israel launched daylight “pre-emptive” strikes in Tehran. The operation, named "Epic Fury," targeted areas near Khamenei’s heavily guarded Leadership House compound.

Later, Trump announced the Iranian leader’s death on Truth Social, saying, “Khamenei, one of the most evil people in history, is dead,” and called the strike “justice for the people of Iran” as well as for Americans.

Iran has declared martyrdom, which means 40 days of national mourning. No successor has been publicly named. Under Iran’s constitution, a panel of clerics is responsible for choosing the next supreme leader.

Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law, and grandchild were also killed in the strikes.
