WASHINGTON, DC: Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F Kennedy Jr clashed with Democrats during a fiery Senate hearing on Thursday, September 4, following the recent firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez.

Before the hearing, Democrats rallied outside the Capitol demanding RFK Jr's resignation. Inside, tensions ran high, but the 71-year-old pushed back forcefully.

RFK Jr backs a punch at Democrats

During the Thursday hearing, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) almost claimed that RFK Jr was putting children in danger.

The HHS secretary swiftly called out Wyden for doing nothing to prevent the rise of chronic diseases in American children.

RFK Jr also delivered straightforward answers and, at one point, told the Democrats that they must answer his questions.

However, Sen Michael Bennet (D-CO) objected to RFK Jr's firing the government’s panel of vaccine experts, but the HHS secretary said, "and you were never there, complaining" when the pharmaceutical industry backed its own candidates.

Meanwhile, Bennet claimed that RFK Jr had lied about vaccine safety, leading him to ask, "Are you saying, Senator — that the mRNA has never been associated with myocarditis or pericarditis?"

Bennet refused to answer RFK Jr's question, leading him to say, "You’re evading the question."

Bennet then replied, "No, I’m asking the questions here, Mr. Kennedy."

Further in the two-hour hearing, Democrats referred to an op-ed published on Thursday by Monarez in the Wall Street Journal, where she claimed RFK Jr had fired her for refusing to approve the conclusions of the new vaccine panel in advance.

RFK Jr denied her accusations and said "yes" when Democrats wanted to know if he was calling her a liar.

The HHS Secretary further mentioned that he had never met privately with her, and added that he could on witnesses to every one of his meetings while in office.

Democrats call RFK Jr 'corrupt' and a 'charlatan'

During Thursday's hearing, Democrats shouted at RFK Jr and continuously interrupted him. They refused to allow him to answer their questions even as they made accusations that he was "corrupt" and a "charlatan."

Sen Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) attacked RFK Jr for removing the recommendation for Covid-19 vaccines for otherwise healthy people. She added that he had broken his promise to keep vaccines available to everyone who wanted them.

Meanwhile, RFK Jr said they were still available and free for most people. Warren added that because in some states, people would now have to pay for them out of pocket, the HHS secretary had broken his promise.

Interestingly, RFK Jr then accused Warren of taking "$855,000 from pharmaceutical companies," adding that she was asking him to recommend vaccines for which there was no clinical indication.

Further in the hearing, Warren defended ousted CDC director Monarez, and RFK Jr countered that Warren herself had recently voted against confirming her.

Internet sides with RFK Jr as he defiantly faces Democrats

Several internet users sided with RFK Jr as he stood strong against the Democrats during a fiery Senate hearing on Thursday, following the recent firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez.

A user wrote on X, "I watched that it was awesome! And he is right!" while one added, "This is exactly why members of Congress must have term limits. They just become part of the furniture in the room and become out of touch."

A person stated, "Go RFK Jr Go," whereas one mentioned, "Go Bobby, go get 'em!"

A user also wrote, "We can Point to every congressman for last 20 years and say 'You did Nothing'! We need TermLimits or nothing changes!" while one commented, "As an Oregonian it was beautiful to watch."
