WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took a jab at Senator Elizabeth Warren after she criticized him for firing Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Commissioner Erika McEntarfer over a poor jobs report.

The POTUS told reporters on Sunday, August 3, that his administration would announce a new commissioner of the BLS "over the next three, four days," following McEntarfer’s dismissal.

Trump lashes out at Elizabeth Warren with Pocahontas jibe

During a CNBC interview on Monday, August 4, Elizabeth Warren said, "Well, look, you know, you get bad data, you kill the messenger, right?"

"And that's Donald Trump because he thinks he can bend reality. If he can just tell a different story, then everyone will have to believe his story," she added.

Warren further added, "I think most people have not absorbed just how dangerous it is, both to fire the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics and also, then what, to put in some sycophant who's going to give data that makes the president happy?"

"So he's got some toady suck-up in there, and a month from now, let's just say good data come out. How many people have to discount that data and say, not really?" she mentioned.

Following her interview, Trump took to Truth Social and made a post slamming her.

He wrote, "Elizabeth Warren is a LOSER! She lies about everything, including the fact that she is an Indian. She’s NOT. She’s no Pocahontas!!!"

Trump said on Sunday before boarding Air Force One in Allentown, Pennsylvania, “We’ll be announcing a new statistician sometime over the next three, four days. We had no confidence. I mean, the numbers were ridiculous, which she announced, but that was just one negative number. All of the numbers seem to be great.”

Interestingly, whoever he nominates as the new commissioner will need to be confirmed by the Senate.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly report on August 1 showed that the US economy added just 73,000 jobs in July 2025.

Moreover, the monthly totals for May and June were revised down by a combined 258,000 jobs.

Internet shares mixed reactions on Trump's post

People on the internet stayed divided and shared mixed reactions as Donald Trump took a jab at Elizabeth Warren after she criticized him for firing Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) commissioner.

A user wrote on X, "She’s a real Loser," while one added, "These types of people will simply lie and lie, because that's how they've been deceiving others. Remember, there are countless lies that scammers tell. There are more lies tomorrow than counts today."

A person also stated, "She should be arrested and deported to India. She should pay a higher tariff," whereas one mentioned, "I have more indigenous blood than she has in her left pinky toe. She should be ashamed of herself."

Meanwhile, some people slammed Donald Trump for his post about Elizabeth Warren.

A user also wrote, "I cannot wait for you to stop. To just, stop. In the most permanent sense," while one commented, "Takes one to know one."

A person also stated, "How interesting. But ... haven't you got more important matters to attend to?" whereas one mentioned, "Nobody, I mean nobody, lies more than Donald J Trump."
