Netizens call on Donald Trump to replace JD Vance with RFK Jr

Robert F Kennedy Jr took the political world by surprise when he appeared at Donald Trump's rally in Glendale, Arizona, just hours after holding a press conference where he announced the suspension of his presidential campaign.

The appearance marked a significant moment as the 70-year-old, once a staunch Democrat, officially endorsed the GOP nominee, signaling a dramatic shift in his political allegiance.

His endorsement comes at a time when Vance, Trump's vice presidential pick, is reportedly losing favor with GOP voters.

This has fueled speculation and excitement among the former president's base, with many suggesting that RFK Jr should replace Vance on the GOP ticket.

Social media platforms were quickly ablaze with opinions on the matter, with some users on X (formerly Twitter) expressing their hopes for a Trump-Kennedy ticket.

One commented, "What he needs to do now is drop Vance and bring in Kennedy for VP and its a wrap," and another said, "Vance should stand aside and go Trump Kennedy. Unstoppable."

The idea of a Trump-Kennedy ticket seemed to resonate with many, as a person wrote, "That’s a strong ticket… I don’t think anyone would argue with that."

One more declared, "Love it! Trump with RFK Jr will make United State Great Again!"

"Nothing brought me more *joy* than texting my dad earlier today to let him know my dream ticket of Trump and RFK Jr wasn’t so far fetched as it sounded months ago. Feeling hopeful! Thank you @RobertKennedyJr and @realDonaldTrump for putting our children first," expressed an individual.

A netizen declared, "Trump is going to put RFK Jr. on the ticket. Just you wait and see!"

"RFK Jr is a shining light. They tried to put that out. Now a Trump/Kennedy ticket is the way to pull out of this nosedive into 1984 dystopia. Plus, think of the CIA files and the big pharma karma they can unleash," read a comment.

Kennedy family calls RFK Jr's endorsement of Donald Trump a 'betrayal'

Following RFK Jr's endorsement, Donald Trump was quick to affirm the unity between the two, stating that they share a common goal of doing what is best for the country.

"We are both in this to do what’s right for the country," declared the GOP nominee at the Glendale rally.

He went on to praise RFK Jr for his courage in addressing issues that have long been neglected in American politics, saying, "He has raised critical issues that have been too long ignored in this country."

Earlier that day, during his press conference, RFK Jr elaborated on the challenges he faced during his campaign, particularly the legal battles waged by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

According to him, the DNC's efforts were aimed at undermining both his campaign and that of Trump.

"The DNC waged continual legal warfare against both President Trump and myself. Each time our volunteers submitted the necessary signatures to get on the ballot, the DNC dragged us into court, state after state, attempting to erase their work and subvert the will of the voters who had signed those petitions," claimed the 70-year-old.

RFK Jr further stated that Trump would "make America healthy again" and praised him as a leader who would defend the nation against totalitarianism.

Trump, in turn, acknowledged the legacy of the Kennedy family, particularly the impact of RFK Jr's father, Robert F Kennedy Sr, and his uncle, John F Kennedy. "I know they are looking down right now and they are very, very proud of Bobby. I’m proud of Bobby," said Trump.

While his endorsement of Trump may have pleased some of the GOP nominee's supporters, it did not sit well with everyone, particularly within his own family.

Kerry Kennedy, one of RFK Jr's sisters, voiced her strong disapproval of her brother's decision. In an interview with a Washington Post reporter, she described RFK Jr's embrace of Trump as "obscene."

She also shared a statement on X (formerly Twitter) on behalf of her family. It read, "We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise and national pride. We believe in Harris and Walz."

"Our brother Bobby's decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story," concluded the statement.
