LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Richard Simmons reportedly refused to get medical attention after he suffered a fall on Friday, July 12, just a day before he was found dead in his home on Saturday, July 13.
According to TMZ, law enforcement shared that the fitness coach had a fall in his bathroom Friday night. His housekeeper, who found him, helped the legendary fitness coach up and implored him to get medical attention quickly.
Despite the requests from his housekeeper, Simmons refused to get medical help.

Richard Simmons fell on his bathroom floor on Friday, July 12, which also happened to be his birthday.
When the housekeeper found the fitness guru on his bathroom floor and helped him up, she asked Simmons to get some medical help immediately.
However, he rejected the idea saying he wanted to spend his birthday night in his home.
He further told his housekeeper that he would probably see a doctor on Saturday if the need arose, according to the outlet.
The housekeeper then helped Simmons into his bed. However, it has been reported that the New Orleans native was feeling dizzy before the fall.
The next day, the housekeeper found the aerobics instructor unresponsive on the floor next to his bed and called 911. At 9.57 am on Saturday, emergency services responded to Belfast Drive home in Los Angeles, The Mirror reported.
Simmons was pronounced dead on the scene, with the police announcing there were no signs of foul play. Another source further told TMZ that Simmons showed no obvious or external signs of injury following the fall, including bumps, bruises, or bleeding.
It has also been reported that his autopsy has been completed but the authorities are waiting for the toxicology test results before declaring the cause of his death.
Richard Simmons was ‘grateful’ to be alive
Richard Simmons’ sudden death came as a shock to his fans as he shared in an interview published on Friday that he was feeling “good” and was “grateful” to be alive.
In the interview published by People just a day before his death, Simmons shared, “I feel good! I am grateful that I’m here, that I am alive for another day.”
In the same interview, he shared his birthday plans with People, saying, “I’ll spend my birthday doing what I do every day, which is to help people.”
While he shared that he would blow out a candle or two, the fitness enthusiast vegetarian revealed, "But the candle will probably be on a zucchini.”
In March, Simmons shared that he faced a health scare after he received treatment for skin cancer on his face.
