Rihanna leaves fans disappointed with ‘weird’ outfit choice at Fashion Awards 2024: ‘Missing the mark’

LONDON, ENGLAND: Rihanna might have had her queen of fashion moments, but one of her recent looks did not sit well with her fans as they demanded she fire her stylist. 

The ‘Diamonds’ singer recently walked the red carpet of the Fashion Awards 2024 in London, England, with her beau A$AP Rocky.

While Rihanna opted for a maximalist look from Christian Lacroix's haute couture line, her musician beau accompanied her in a relaxed dark-colored suit.

But, fans were left unhappy with her styling as many felt the stylist didn’t do justice to the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker’s history of eclectic sartorial choices.

Rihanna opts for black and blue combination at Fashion Awards 2024

Rihanna, 36, walked the red carpet in a black and blue combination from the Christian Lacroix haute couture line on Monday, December 2. The mother-of-two accompanied her look with black strappy heels from YSL, per The Express.

For the occasion, the Fenty Beauty owner wore a tight-fitting black micro mini and tights, with long black leather gloves. She completed her look with a blue fur overcoat and matching feather hat. 

However, her dramatic look was not lauded by many of her fans as they demanded she change her stylist. 

While it is not known who styled the ‘We Found Love’ singer for the occasion, as of October 2024, Jahleel Weaver served as lead stylist and creative director of Rihanna, per The New York Times. 

Internet unhappy with Rihanna's latest fashion choices

Netizens weren't too happy with Rihanna's recent fashion choices as many of them urged the songstress to fire her stylist. One of them even claimed Rihanna's fashion game dropped after she started dating A$AP Rocky. 

One social media user commented about Rihanna's styling on a Reddit post, "I hate the way her recent outfits haven’t been properly fitted in the bust area since she’s had kids. It’s like her stylist sends incorrect measurements to designers/tailors or something."

"Ngl, I’m not a fan of most of her fashion choices lately," commented another Redditor, before adding, "This looks like a costume."

Someone else added, "Something is off about it … I think the fitting is weird, the blue thing is shaped awkwardly… idk. Only thing I like is the hat, shoes, and Rihanna herself lol."

Another user even thought of Rihanna's former stylist, adding, "Mel Ottenburg as Rihanna’s stylist you are missed dearly!!!"

A user remarked, "Im wondering if she has some insecurities about her post baby body. A lot of the recent looks seem to be trying to conceal her entire mid section and she’s always holding up some part of her outfit to not reveal her full body. i wish she had a stylist that pulled looks she could be completely comfortable in."

"Meh. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. It’s okay. Rihanna doesn’t do okay," grumbled another dissatisfied fan.

A fan noted, "Am a huuuuuge fan of hers but this outfit is wearing her. This inevitably makes her look uncomfortable and disembodied."

Someone else posed a question regarding her stylist, "This isn’t working for me. Did she change stylists? She used to dress impeccably but lately she’s been missing the mark."
