The singer spent the night with friends and family, reflecting on her journey and welcoming 2025 in a relaxed setting.

Rihanna celebrates a year of sobriety with A$AP Rocky and friends

The 36-year-old pop icon rang in the new year with her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, and their two young sons, RZA, two, and Riot, one, during a low-key celebration in a New York City hotel room.

“Y’all, I didn’t drink all year! I didn’t drink all year,” Rihanna said in the clip posted on her Instagram.

The 'Diamonds' singer captioned her post, “New Year, New Me.”

Rihanna and her close circle watched the Times Square ball drop via livestream on her iPhone while celebrating the occasion, Page Six noted.  

The couple has been together since late 2019 and welcomed their sons in May 2022 and August 2023.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky share thoughts on parenthood

During a British Vogue interview published in February 2023, Rihanna reflected on motherhood.

“You really don’t remember life before; that’s the craziest thing ever," she told the publication.

Rocky also spoke highly of Rihanna’s parenting skills, describing her as “a great mom” during an interview with W Magazine in October 2024.

Discussing their parenting styles, the rapper shared, “I think we both have our niches, our things that we do that we’re good at,” before adding that he considers himself “the greatest dad in the whole wide world.”

Fans react to Rihanna’s sobriety and call for new music

Fans congratulate Rihanna on her year of sobriety, but many also used the moment to ask for new music.

“That’s excellent!” one fan commented on her Instagram post. Another wrote, “Soo proud of you riri...”

Some fans joked about her music, with one writing, “New Year, Old albums,” while another added, “We want an album forehead.”

Others continued to urge her for updates, with one fan commenting, “Mamaaaa use that Voice to sing, we r craving for it.”

Another joked, “I thought it was the countdown for the album drop.” One more user praised Rihanna’s accomplishment, writing, “Congratulations on a year of sobriety!”
