Lisa Marie Presley’s intuition and concerns about Elvis Presley

Riley Keough recalled how her mother Lisa Marie Presley, only nine years old at the time, sensed something was wrong on the day Elvis Presley died in August 1977.

“She woke up and felt something was not right,” the actress told Oprah.

Elvis died later that day at the age of 42 at his Graceland home.

Keough shared how her mother would often feel uneasy about her father’s well-being in the months leading up to his death, according to Daily Mail.

“She would tell me that sometimes she would find him in his bathroom looking kind of out of it or holding onto the railing to stand up straight,” Keough revealed.

Oprah asked Keough if there had been “a lot of chaos” at home with Elvis.

The star of 'Daisy Jones & The Six' confirmed that life at Graceland was tumultuous but explained that Lisa Marie’s world upstairs was more isolated, focused primarily on her relationship with her father.

“But upstairs was only her and her dad,” explained Keough, adding, “I think she got a lot of intimate time up there with him. No one else was up there.”

Lisa Marie Presley's fear of losing her father Elvis Presley

One of the most emotional moments of the interview preview came when Riley Keough shared a letter written by Lisa Marie Presley as a child.

In the letter, Lisa Marie expressed her fears about losing her father, writing, “I hope my daddy doesn’t die.”

Keough also mentioned that her mother’s premonitions extended to the night before Elvis died.

“She said goodnight to him and I think she knew, like she had some kind of sense… many times that he wasn’t okay,” said Keough.
