RNC chair plans aggressive midterm poll campaign strategy: 'It's going to be a Trump-a-Palooza'
WASHINGTON, DC: Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters has announced that President Donald Trump will launch an extensive campaign tour across critical battleground states to support GOP candidates in this year's midterm elections.
The party aims to highlight President Trump's accomplishments and use his personal engagement to ensure electoral success in key districts this fall.
Gruters outlines plans for ‘Trump-a-Palooza’ campaign tour
The Republican Party is planning a strategy that moves beyond simple endorsements toward a high-energy presence from the president himself.
Gruters explained that the party intends to use Trump's popularity to create momentum for candidates across the country.
"All the great things the president has done, all the great candidates we have running, and we're going to use it as a catapult to send the president on a barnstorming tour to make sure that he is successful in hitting all these districts," Gruters stated.
With the election just months away, the RNC is preparing for a major push to energize the base, with Gruters promising that "we're going to make sure that it's going to be something like a Trump-a-Palooza" as the campaign season officially kicks off.
Joe Gruters reaffirms support for Trump as the party’s central figurehead
When asked whether President Trump's current approval ratings could present a challenge for Republican candidates in competitive races, Gruters brushed aside the concern.
He emphasized that Trump’s leadership and his ability to connect with voters remain the party's greatest strength.
Gruters maintained that the president is the ultimate figurehead for the GOP, stating, "I think we're going to be OK, because I, you know, at the end of the day, the president's the best showman that's ever lived, and he's the best showman that's ever existed in our party."
Gruters affirms support for Fitzpatrick and Kean despite hurdles
It is to be noted that RNC is also working to ensure a united front, even when addressing internal disagreements with party members.
Gruters specifically pointed to the party's backing of Rep Brian Fitzpatrick in Pennsylvania, despite the congressman's occasional opposition to some of the president's policy goals.
"We need to win all these seats, and so I respect and appreciate Congressman Fitzpatrick," Gruters said, adding, "Fitzpatrick is a strong member of Congress, and we need him back in our delegation to make sure we have a majority."
Furthermore, Gruters also dismissed concerns regarding the lengthy absence of Rep Tom Kean Jr, framing it as an unavoidable personal matter and expressing full confidence that Kean will ultimately be successful in his reelection bid.
