WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F Kennedy Jr, an independent presidential candidate, is once again postponing disclosing his financial information, despite his platform advocating for openness, according to Raw Story.

Notably, to postpone the moment when voters would be able to view the affluent Kennedy family member's finances, Kennedy on Monday, July 1, requested a second extension to file the personal financial disclosure report that is required of all presidential candidates.

Lorenzo Holloway, counsel to Kennedy, wrote on Monday, "Mr Kennedy has been diligently gathering and reviewing extensive financial information but needs additional time to complete his report. Accordingly, there is good cause for extending the filing deadline to July 12, 2024."

Moreover, the Federal Election Commission's designated agency ethics official and acting general counsel, Lisa J Stevenson, approved the request for an 11-day extension.

Notably, Kennedy is not alone among the presidential contenders who postponed making public his financial statement, which was supposed to be released on May 15.

Former President Donald Trump was given until August 15 to turn in his declaration, which is mandated by federal law and meant to make the public aware of the financial details of candidates and members of the executive branch to identify any potential conflicts of interest.

Kennedy asked on May 7 for his first extension of the year. He also postponed his financial report for the previous year. He entered the campaign as a Democrat in April 2023.

Kennedy's former campaign manager last year mentioned 'the press of business in the past 30 days since his announcement has been so extraordinary, the demands on Mr Kennedy's time have been great, and his presence at various venues across the country requires extra time to produce the report.'

According to The Seattle Times, Kennedy disclosed in June 2023 that he made $7.8 million from his environmental legal practice, consultancy work, and compensation from Children's Health Defense, a nonprofit organization he created that has opposed immunizations.

Internet grilled Robert F Kennedy Jr as he delayed revealing his finances like Trump

Several internet users slammed RFK Jr as he is once again postponing disclosing his personal financial information, despite his platform advocating for openness.

A user wrote on X, "Trump knows down to the penny his, and some of yours, but I doubt RFK knows his bank's name" while one added, "It should be a law. Every candidate, no matter what race, should be required to provide their financial and tax records."

A person also stated, "It's always been a scam. Drug addicts learn to lie well to feed their habit. As an ex-addict, RFK continues his lying to scam his base" whereas one mentioned, "RFK jr is missing parts of his brain. He has a decaying worm corpse in his head that ate part of his brain."
