ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr questioned President Joe Biden's capability to lead the nation after his performance in the CNN debate on Thursday, June 27.

Kennedy Jr also voiced his doubts about who is truly making decisions in the White House, following the debate performance reacting to which even Democrats have reportedly "panicked."

Robert F Kennedy Jr questions Joe Biden's leadership

Robert F Kennedy Jr warned Joe Biden may not be the one making key decisions and running the country.

"He does not seem to be the person who's making the decisions in the White House," Kennedy Jr told Lawrence Jones according to Fox News.

"I think our government is being run by anonymous men in lanyards, and it's scary," he added.

Kennedy Jr didn't meet CNN's debate requirements. He hosted his own event answering the same questions in real-time on X (formerly Twitter), raising critical issues such as inflation and the housing crisis.

It ran simultaneously as the presidential debate between Biden and former President Donald Trump was held in Atlanta, marking the first of the 2024 election cycle. They resorted to deeply personal attacks during the debate.

Biden's performance during the debate caused concern within the Democratic Party regarding the president's readiness for a second term.

Robert F Kennedy Jr reflects on Biden-Trump debate: 'Sad story for democracy'

Robert F Kennedy Jr said it was a "sad story" for democracy that Joe Biden and Donald Trump bickered over irrelevant topics without describing how they can work towards getting children into houses.

"This whole spectacle was a sad story for democracy," the independent presidential candidate said. "We have 341 million people in this country, and the two political parties produced two men who bickered over, really, irrelevancies without telling us how they're going to get our kids into houses."

"This is the first generation in American history who's going to be worse off than their parents," he said.

Kennedy Jr highlighted his personal concerns, referencing his own children’s difficulties in securing homes despite their privileged backgrounds.

"I have seven kids. They all went to great schools. They all have good jobs, and none of them can get into homes," he said.

"My kids are very, very privileged compared to other children in this country. This is a crisis. The American middle class is the greatest economic engine in the history of mankind… it works because we had them in our homes. People could get equity. They were able to raise money."

Internet supports Robert F Kennedy Jr's concerns about Joe Biden running the US

The Internet seemed to largely side with Kennedy Jr as he raised concerns regarding Joe Biden and Donald Trump's second term, with some suggesting that it was his opportunity to win as a third party.

"This is why RFK has kept pressing....getting on state ballots. He was watching for this moment. It would be his only possible opening to win as a third party," wrote one user on X.

Others shared their agreement and fears about the current administration.

"We already knew this before last night! Super scary!" commented one user.

Another stated, "Very much agreed, weakness and incompetence is not going to help our country."

However, some defended Biden’s leadership as one user argued, "Presidents are diplomats. They don’t work in a silo; he has a team of very competent, very intelligent people surrounding him."

One more user echoed Kennedy Jr's concerns, writing, "Agree. Biden is definitely not running this Country. It’s being run illegally by his handlers. They should be arrested for treason. They are not elected."
