Another X user commented, “So Clark commits the flagrant which isn’t that crazy but Angel’s reaction is what proves she hates her? Not the foul or the play but just her being upset? That’s the line for hate now?”

“A Black woman gets flagrant foul and dragged online, and the Black man in the room calls her hateful? You’re not protecting women. You’re protecting the system that profits off her pain,” the third one stated.

An individual posted, “This is reckless and embarrassing. You don’t know either of these women, yet you’re pushing a harmful narrative. On top of the racist hate Angel has gotten every single time she’s played opposite Caitlin, in college and now in the WNBA. As a Black man in the media, you should know better. Statements like this don’t help, they just fuel division and hate. This is really disappointing.”

Caitlin Clark defends herself
Meanwhile, it has been said that Clark and Reese share a history that began during the 2022-23 national championship when Reese’s LSU beat Clark’s Iowa, as per CNN.

Though both women have downplayed the rivalry, their fan bases have always brought it up.
Even after the recent spat, Clark told ESPN’s Holly Rowe, “Let's not make it something that it's not. It was just a good play on the basketball. I'm not sure what the ref saw to upgrade it, and that's up to their discretion.”
“It's a take foul to put them at the free-throw line. I've watched a lot of basketball in my life, that's exactly what it was. I wasn't trying to do anything malicious. That's not the type of player I am,” she added.
