This year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees include names like Ozzy Osbourne, Cher, and Peter Frampton. The announcement was reportedly made during the April 21 broadcast of ‘American Idol’ while the induction ceremony will take place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 19. Let’s take a look at the inductees’ list.

1. Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne’s name has been included in the Performer Category. About the honor, he reportedly said that it “feels big". "I’m more than honored," he added. This came a year after Ozzy’s wife Sharon Osbourne slammed the Rock Hall and said, “I will never ask for favors. I’ve never asked anyone for a favor. So, my thing is f**k you if you don’t realize that somebody really deserves to be here. And you don’t recognize that? Then, see ya.”

2. Cher

Cher is also one of the inductees in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Performer Category. The Rock Hall has described the 77-year-old singer as “iconic” and “the Goddess of Pop,” who has continued to rule the Billboard for the past several decades.

3. Mary J Blige

Mary J Blige has made it to the Performer Category of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Called the ‘Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’, Blige has earlier received a Primetime Emmy Award, nine Grammy Awards as well as twelve Billboard Music Awards, and twelve NAACP Image Awards.

4. Foreigner

The rock band with a legacy of 50 years has continued to rule over rock & roll radio. Taking to Instagram after the Rock Hall’s announcement, Mick Jones, founding member, songwriter, and lead guitarist, said, “I deeply appreciate the recognition from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame committee. Getting this news today is an incredible endorsement of what we have achieved over time.”

5. A Tribe Called Quest

Though A Tribe Called Quest has discontinued, fans of the hip-hop group still enjoy its creations. As per the Rock Hall, their work and art “continue to inspire generations of hip-hop artists and fans".

6. Dave Matthews Band

Since its launch in 1991, the Dave Matthews Band is said to have had an impact even on today’s generation of music lovers. Taking to X, it shared, “Dave Matthews Band is honored to be in the @rockhall Class Of 2024. Congrats to our fellow nominees and thanks so much to all of our fans for the support! #VOTEDMBEVERYDAY #RockHall2024.”

7. Kool & the Gang

The two brothers Robert 'Kool' Bell and Ronald Bell, along with Dennis 'Dee Tee' Thomas, Robert 'Spike' Mickens, Charles Smith, George Brown, Woodrow 'Woody' Sparrow, and Ricky Westfield formed the band in 1964. It’s widely known for their funky songs and jams. The band posted on Instagram, “Congratulations to the other inductees, and THANK YOU to everyone who voted! Feels good to be officially part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! #rockhall2024.”

8. Peter Frampton

The English-American singer and guitarist has been included in the Performer Category of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Expressing his happiness, Frampton tweeted, “This is something I never expected. I am overwhelmed that I will be inducted into the @rockhall, especially alongside so many incredible artists who have gone before me. I can’t thank everyone enough for voting for me. You are the best. Somebody pinch me please!!”
