Rose Hanbury breaks silence on Prince William affair rumors amid Kate Middleton's disappearance
LONDON, UK: Rose Hanbury has finally addressed the rumors of her affair with Prince William, amid Kate Middleton's absence. The mother-of-three through her lawyer quashed such reports and called them “completely false," Page Six reports.
It has been three months since Kate made a public appearance and is said to be recovering after undergoing abdominal surgery.
Stephen Colbert floats Prince William and Rose Hanbury affair theory
However, the internet has rushed into multiple conspiracy theories. One of which was waded by Stephen Colbert during his ‘The Late Show,’ a few days ago.
“The kingdom has been all a flutter by the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton. Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate’s absence may be related to her husband and the future King of England William having an affair,” the 59-year-old said in his monologue.
He continued, “So, I think we all know who the alleged other woman is. Say it with me –– the Marchioness of Cholmondeley –– what a beautiful name!” Colbert quipped, referencing Hanbury’s formal royal title.
He said while taking a shot at Hanbury’s previous royal title, further explaining that the word Cholmondeley is actually pronounced ‘Chumley.’
“Now there have been rumors an affair between William and the Marching Band of Chicanery since 2019,” he kept on making fun of the title.
“According to tabloids back then, when Kate supposedly confronted him about it, he laughed it off saying there was nothing to it. Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating,” the comedian continued.
Kensington Palace issues statement about Kate Middleton's health
Kensington Palace earlier announced that Kate Middleton went through her surgery and continues to recover.
“The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery,” read a statement on Instagram.
It added, that the “Princess of Wales is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.” “The Princess of Wales wishes to apologize to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements,” the statement concluded.
“She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
