Rosie O’Donnell launches into anti-Trump rant at Irish pub after Jimmy Kimmel suspension: Report

WASHINGTON, DC: Rosie O’Donnell went on an anti-Trump tirade at a pub in Northern Ireland while venting about Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension from his ABC late-night show.
According to the New York Post, the former ‘The View’ co-host reportedly unleashed her anger during a 20-minute drinking session on Thursday at the Old Commercial Bar and Lounge, known locally as Mannie’s, near the town of Downpatrick.
“Now Trump gets to decide who tells late-night jokes,” O’Donnell allegedly said, the Post reported, citing multiple witnesses.

Rosie O’Donnell’s social media rant preceded pub outburst
Before her barroom remarks, O’Donnell had posted a series of anti-Trump messages on Instagram, including one that read: “F*** this fascist administration and corrupt corporate executives. Bowing to the orange monster. America is no more,” according to the Post.
Landlord Barry Gilliland told the outlet he served O’Donnell pints of Smithwick’s Red Ale during what he described as a “friendly exchange” with fellow American tourists.
“I don’t recall her saying that,” Gilliland said when asked about the reported comments. “At least I didn’t hear her anyway.”
Reps for O’Donnell did not respond to the Post’s requests for comment.

Rosie O'Donnell living abroad after Trump’s second term
O’Donnell has been living in a quiet Dublin suburb since shortly after Trump’s second presidential inauguration earlier this year.
In a March interview, she said “fascism has taken a foothold in the United States.” The New York Times later reported that her bid to obtain Irish citizenship through her grandparents was still pending.

Backlash over Jimmy Kimmel’s remarks
Her pub rant came shortly after ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! “indefinitely” following the host’s on-air claim that Trump’s MAGA allies were exploiting conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination “to score political points.
Kimmel’s comments drew backlash from conservatives and pressure from FCC chairman Brendan Carr, prompting major affiliate Nexstar Media Group to preempt the show.

Rosie O’Donnell and Trump’s long-running feud
O’Donnell and Trump have been feuding for nearly two decades. She famously called him a “snake-oil salesman” on 'The View' in 2006 after he refused to fire Miss USA Tara Conner.
Last month, O’Donnell claimed she skipped her daughter’s college graduation due to renewed tensions with Trump, who has threatened to strip her of US citizenship. O’Donnell was born in Commack, New York.
