LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of 'The View', the panel took aim at former Rep Tulsi Gabbard, who is reportedly being considered by former President Donald Trump as a potential running mate.

Trump has disclosed a shortlist that includes Gabbard, along with other figures like Gov Ron DeSantis, Sen Tim Scott, Vivek Ramaswamy, Rep Byron Donalds, and Gov Kristi Noem.

Troubling implications for Republican support

The discussion on the potential VP list turned heated when former Trump administration official Alyssa Farah Griffin expressed concern, suggesting that a Trump-Gabbard ticket would be Russian President Vladimir Putin's "dream."

Griffin highlighted the potential loss of support from Republicans who advocate for NATO and Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

"Donald Trump, Tulsi Gabbard would literally be Vladimir Putin’s dream ticket. You would lose every normie Republican like myself who wants to stand by NATO, wants Ukraine to defeat Russia. That’s bizarre to me."

Scrutinizing Gabbard's legal battle

Co-host Sunny Hostin echoed Griffin's sentiments, dubbing Gabbard as "Russia’s dream candidate." Hostin also commended former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, saying, "I think what’s interesting is, is Tulsi Gabbard’s name coming up. Because you’re right, she would be Russia’s dream candidate. But let’s recall this. You know, everything Hillary Clinton said was true."

Gabbard had previously taken legal action against Clinton for claims about her ties to Russia, but the lawsuit was dropped in 2020. Whoopi Goldberg supported the panel's viewpoint, stating, "She was exactly what Hillary said she was. She was a big Russian puppet. That’s what she didn’t want them to find out."

This critique of Gabbard centers on concerns about her potential alignment with Russian interests, raising questions about the dynamics of her political career.

Social media echo chamber

A Twitter exchange reveals a spectrum of opinions on The View co-host Sunny Hostin's credibility.

One user wrote, "Sunny lies all the time and spreads a lot of conspiracy theories. Then calls out Republicans for spreading conspiracy theories. Something not right with her. Not sure what, but something is off."

Another added, "She’s not lying at all, I’ve seen it myself."

"Tulsi will bring a new source of Non-Republican voters. IE. Independents and some Democrats such as myself. None of the other candidates can actually help Trump win. They all are great options, but Tulsi is the only one to bring many thousands of Non-Republican votes," commented one.

One replied, "Sunny nailed it!! HRC has always been right! Tulsi is a Putin puppet."

Another wrote, "Putins puppet doesnt she want a form of government that resembles Russia the State deciding what to give to Americans."
