LONDON, ENGLAND: Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have fallen in love with the “slower pace of life” in the UK, and are reportedly searching for properties outside London to have a second residence on the other side of the Atlantic.

Mendes, 50, recently opened up about the “magical” lifestyle they fell in love with in England, as she shared in an interview with The Sunday Times, “We’re in Notting Hill, so we have access to those communal gardens. Seriously, it’s magical.”

The retired ‘Hitch’ actress and her longtime partner have currently moved their family to England because of Gosling’s filming schedule. However, a source dished that while the arrangement was initially thought to be a temporary one, the couple’s newfound love for the British nation may propel them to spend a few more years in England as residents.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are looking forward to setting up another base in England

A source recently confirmed to In Touch Weekly that after the couple spent a considerable time in England -- with the ‘Barbie’ actor filming ‘Project Hail Mary’ with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller -- they fell in love with the English soil.

Dishing more about their interest in buying properties in England, the source shared that though they are looking for properties, their home in Montecito will still remain.

The insider revealed, “They’ll still keep their place in Montecito to have a home base in California because they’ll certainly be back, but they’re ready for a change of pace,” before adding that the change would give their daughters a new taste of life outside the American way as well.

The couple who started dating in 2011, share two children together, daughters Esmeralda Amada, ten, and Amada Lee, eight.

“They had such a good time in the UK and love the idea of giving their girls a more permanent taste of life outside America,” explained the source before adding that living in Europe would allow them to explore more places.

“It feels safer in a lot of ways,” the insider noted before adding, “And they love the idea of being in Europe, they can take all sorts of quick trips, there’s so much to explore.”

Moreover, the source spilled that the former actress, who retired from acting after starring in ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ with her beau in 2012, can work from anywhere in the world.

Apart from working as a fashion designer, she also serves as the creative director of the makeup brand CIRCA Beauty. However, for her, the place of work is not a constraint.

“Eva can work from anywhere and wherever Ryan goes for work they’ll travel with him the way they do now so nothing will change on that end,” spilled the source.

They further shed light on Gosling’s future acting plans, saying, he wants to “slow down for a bit,” and thus, the quaint countryside of UK is their latest option.

“His plan right now is to slow down for a bit, he’s still going to work but just not at the intense pace he has been so it’s the perfect time to explore a new country,” added the source before revealing, “They’re looking at properties outside of London in the countryside at the moment, they want that slower pace of life."

Eva Mendes shared she had a ‘nonverbal agreement’ with Ryan Gosling

Earlier this year, Mendes, who worked on films like ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’, ‘Ghost Rider’, and ‘Training Day’, revealed that when they started dating and thought about expanding their family, she had a “nonverbal agreement” with Gosling to be a stay-at-home mother to their children.

Admitting that she was very happy to nod to the agreement, Mendes shared, “It was, like, a no brainer. I’m so lucky. And I was like, ‘If I can have this time with my children …’,” per In Touch Weekly.

She further shared her reason of pausing her acting career was to be with her family always. Talking to Today, Mendes shared, “And I still worked, I just didn’t act because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away.”

“It was almost just like a nonverbal agreement that it was like, ‘OK he’s going to work and I’m going to work, I’m just going to work here,'”  said the author of ‘Desi, Mami & the Never-Ending Worries’ book.
