Eva Mendes says decision to give up acting was 'like a no-brainer'
Mendes recently shared on the 'Today' show that she stepped away from the limelight to raise her two young daughters with her partner Gosling.
"It was like a no-brainer. I'm so lucky, and I was like, if I can have this time with my children... and I still worked, I just didn't act because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away," she said.
"It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, 'Okay he's going to work and I'm going to work, I'm just going to work here,'" she said.
“I still worked, I just didn’t act because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away,” Mendes added.

Mendes, who met Gosling in 2011, said she "pretty much stopped acting" after she appeared alongside her partner in 'The Place Beyond the Pines.'
“I have never experienced anything like that," she said of the 'Barbie' actor.
"The way he works, his commitment to his craft, how he wants to make everything as best as it can be, and that means making his co-stars as best as they can be," she added.
“But unfortunately — or fortunately — there is only one Ryan!’" she continued.
“He went and he did his job. He just happens to be really good at his job, and he did it and he came home. Because that’s what it’s about. You go, you do your job the best you can and then you come home," said Mendes.
Ryan Gosling admitted he was 'not thinking about kids' before meeting Eva Mendes
Gosling, who shares two daughters, Esmeralda Amada Gosling, nine, and Amada Lee Gosling, previously admitted that he was not "thinking about kids" before meeting Mendes.
At the Santa Barbara Film Festival in January, Gosling expressed profound gratitude for his relationship with Mendes and raising their two daughters.
"Most importantly, I got to meet the girl of my dreams, Eva Mendes, and have two dream children," he said at the time.
