Sabrina Carpenter praises Taylor Swift’s grace and support

“You just watch her, like, walk in a room and it’s very easy to understand that she’s so composed, she’s graceful, she’s gracious,” Sabrina Carpenter remarked.

Rather than offering direct advice, Swift has served as a role model, embodying what fame should look like in the pop world.

Sabrina Carpenter further explained that navigating fame is a unique journey for everyone, and there’s no set blueprint.

“You just kind of have to exist and figure out what you can handle and what you don’t want to deal with,” she added. “You just kind of figure it out along the way. I know that sounds a little vague but I really do think that you find the people that you surround yourself with that make you feel safe and go from there.”

During the interview, Carpenter also touched on her Short n' Sweet tour, her songwriting process, and some common misconceptions about her.

“I think a misperception is that I don’t write my music,” she explained. “I think a lot of people think because I have, you know, a producer and co-writers that I love, that I’m sitting in the room on my phone, not writing songs.”

Carpenter also revealed the story behind casting her boyfriend, Barry Keoghan, in her music video for 'Please Please Please'.

"I was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?'” she said. “And he was next to me in a chair. And he was so excited about it, and he likes the song, which is great, he’s a fan of the song. He does like my music a lot, yeah.”

Sabrina Carpenter stresses the importance of self-expression through her outfits

Sabrina Carpenter recently addressed the ongoing criticism faced by pop stars. While the 'Espresso' singer recognizes that trailblazing artists like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, and Madonna have paved the way for greater acceptance, she points out that criticism still persists, especially concerning her clothing choices.

In a TIME100 Next interview, Carpenter shared, "But you’ll still get the occasional mother who has a strong opinion on how you should be dressing. And to that, I just say, don’t come to the show, and that’s OK."
