Britney Spears' ex Sam Asghari reveals why he still cares for her: 'Thankful for every moment'

Following their 2023 split, Sam Asghari credited Britney Spears for providing a 'quick crash course' in navigating Hollywood’s complexities

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sam Asghari is opening up about his past relationship with pop icon Britney Spears.

Asghari who split from Spears in 2023, recently went Instagram official with his new girlfriend Brooke Irvine on January 1, posting sweet beachside pics.

Sam Asghari says Britney Spears' relationship was a 'quick crash course' in Hollywood

Sam Asghari is set to star in ‘The Traitors’ and for that, he is well prepared, crediting his ex-wife, Britney Spears.

“I’ve learned a lot in the past five or six years being exposed to that (darker) side of Hollywood. And it’s quite a blessing,” he told Page Six.

“It was a quick crash course in Hollywood and it sort of helped me. I figured it would be a good tool to actually help me in the Traitors game as well," he continued.

Asghari emphasized the importance of remaining "careful" in industry. 

“You have to be careful in every industry. Not just in Hollywood. You have to always be careful and protect yourself and protect the people that you love," he added.

Sam Asghari says supporting 'Free Britney' moment was a 'bare minimum' for his partner

Sam Asghari, 30, supported Britney Spears during the 'Free Britney' movement. He stood by her as she fought to end a 13-year conservatorship controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.

Asghari feels it was the least he could done as his partner.

“I think it’s the bare minimum you can do as a partner, to be a backbone to someone and to be their biggest supporter, biggest cheerleader, the biggest…the biggest everything,” he told the publication.

Even as Britney Spears continues to spark fears among fans about her mental state with her disturbing dancing Instagram videos, Asghari has nothing but best wishes for her.

“I just wish her the best,” he told the outlet. “I think that the number one factor of a partner is to be there for one another, no matter what.”

Sam Asghari says meeting people along the way is a 'big part' of life

Sam Asghari has no regrets about splitting from Britney Spears. His philosophy is that people have different phases in life that all go through. 

“We all go through this life and we go through different chapters and you meet people along the way and they are a big part of your life," Asghari said.

"You’re just always thankful for every moment that you spent with people in the past," he added.

Even though Asghari has received a lot of rebuke for having earned fame through his relationship with Spears, he firmly believes in not taking advantage of anybody.

“There’s never ever a need to take advantage of anybody," he told the publication.

According to Asghari, the key is to "move forward" and maintain a grateful attitude, being "always thankful for everything that has ever happened to you."
