LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Three months after the death of "the love of her life", actress Sandra Bullock is reportedly learning to pick herself up.

Bullock, 59, was recently seen for the first time since the death of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, in August this year. The actress was spotted in Los Angeles toward the end of October with her 11-year-old daughter, Laila, and a bodyguard.

Bullock appeared 'somber but surprisingly good'

A bystander remarked that Bullock appeared "somber but surprisingly good and put together" and that "she was doting on Laila the whole time." Bullock has always put her children first.

A source told the 'National Enquirer', "She's struggling to stay strong and picking up the pieces for her children."

After a private three-year battle with ALS, Bullock's partner died in August at the age of 57. The actress was his primary caregiver during this time.

The source added, "The last few years have been incredibly stressful and heartbreaking for her — and Sandra hasn't yet fully processed everything — but she's slowly learning to manage her grief," as reported by RadarOnline.

Bullock and Bryan had been dating for almost eight years. The source mentioned Bullock's 13-year-old son Louis and 11-year-old Laila, "They were as good as married and he was the only father her children have known. They're all in therapy and Sandra encourages them to talk about Bryan often, to keep his memory alive."

The source said Randall thought "he was going to a better place," and that Bullock had once called him "very Christian. And they all like to think he's watching over them."

Fortunately for the star of 'The Blind Side', she apparently had a solid support network. At the time of Randall's passing, her sister Gesine Bullock-Prado wrote with affection, "I'm convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon."

The Oscar winner put her career on hold to care for him alongside a team of nurses, so that thought gives comfort, "as does the knowledge that Bryan knew that she loved him dearly and did everything she could for him," the source continued.

"She had a total devotion to him," the source stated. However, with him no longer around, Bullock apparently has a lot of time on her hands to reflect.

According to the source, "She's been so busy worrying about everyone else that she's not quite in self care mode yet and her heart is shattered."

The source added, "There have been a lot of private tears, but she's trying to do what he always told her to do: Breath and take it one day at a time."

The source revealed that Bullock is preparing for her first holiday season without him, "which will be especially painful".

The source confided, "But she appreciates every single moment she has with her kids and knows that she has to move forward and live her own life to the fullest for their sake. That's what Bryan would have wanted for all of them."
