In a video shared by Saoirse Ronan’s fans on X, the actress appeared visibly shocked moments after her name was called for Best Supporting Actress at the IFTA. The viral clip captures her widening her eyes, raising her eyebrows, and rolling her eyes in disbelief over seven seconds of footage.

As she stood up to head to the stage, Saoirse Ronan froze for a moment, looking around in astonishment. She won her debut IFTA award for her role in 'Blitz', a film about a young boy during World War II.

In the film, Ronan plays the boy's mother, who sends him to safety in the English countryside, only for him to embark on a perilous journey back home to reunite with her.

In her acceptance speech, she humbly began by saying, “I shouldn’t have gotten this.” She continued, “No, I’m serious. That was such an incredible category to be a part of. Thank you so much to IFTA for this, but just being reminded of all the other brilliant, brilliant performances that were just on that screen is very humbling and it makes me incredibly proud.”

Later that evening, Ronan also won Best Actress for 'The Outrun'. Having been nominated for an Oscar four times without winning, she’s no stranger to losing. She once shared, “I just think I’ve gotten so used to losing now, like I don’t win anything," as per Irish.
