LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'And Just Like That' star Sara Ramirez made a hint on social media that they were fired from the spin-off 'Sex and the City' because of their solidarity for Palestine and went on disparaging their 'performative' character.

The 48-year-old non-binary actor Ramirez, who plays Che Diaz and goes by they/them, posted a series of pictures on Instagram on Tuesday, January 16, that seemed to indicate they would not be back for the third season of the show.

Although few would pretend that Che Diaz is a favorite character, Ramirez's possible termination might be the most recent in a line of penalties for someone who has voiced opposition to the indiscriminate shelling of innocent people.

Sara Ramirez claims 'industry' to be 'duplicitous'

Ramirez has been sharing content on Instagram that advocates for an end to hostilities between Israel and Hamas since November 2023.

However, they recently attacked the "industry" as "duplicitous" and suggested that they might have been fired from 'And Just Like That' in the run-up to the third season of the show.

"Our industry is so duplicitous," the former 'Grey's Anatomy' actor penned on her social media account.

"While they give awards away, casting directors and agents are making blacklists of actors and workers who post anything in support of Palestinians in Gaza to ensure they will not work again," the actor wrote, the night after the 75th Emmy Awards.

Ramirez added: "While they lift up some of their own clients who have spoken up against this genocide, they are firing and letting others who have smaller platforms go."

Interpreting the message with a critical eye, it appears that Ramirez has been sacked or let go from 'And Just Like That' behind closed doors due to their support of Palestine, per Daily Mail.

"While they award 'lgbtq orgs', they are silent on those orgs ties to weapons manufacturers who are currently supporting the Israel military as it commits genocide on Palestinian lives that include LGBTQIA2S+ lives."

Neither HBO nor the creators of 'And Just Like That' have made any formal confirmations as of yet.

Sara Ramirez allegedly took a dig at 'performative' nature of Hollywood

Ramirez also seemed to be making fun of Hollywood's 'performative' culture later in the piece, focusing more on the roles actors played than their real performances.

The non-binary actor made fun of those who felt the need for awards, calling them something "shiny" that gives one a sense of "feeling special and powerful."

"Awards are shiny and people need to pay their rent or feel special and powerful. Meanwhile we are beyond the 100 day mark on this “war” that has been acknowledged by many, including the ICC, as a genocide," Ramirez wrote.

However, the artist pointed out that hundreds of people were dying in Gaza, making it a somber moment to celebrate. Ramirez previously came to the streets of Brooklyn during a Palestinian protest and waved a transgender flag.

"It's wild how performative so many in Hollywood are," she remarked. "Even more performative than the last character I played." Ramirez's most recent role is Che, per IMDb.

Ramirez portrays comedian Che Diaz, whose romance with the 'Sex and the City' protagonist Miranda Hobbes (played by Cynthia Nixon) caused controversy among fans. However, Ramirez hinted that their time in the part was up by using the past tense.

Ramirez's latest revelation came on the same day that ABC explained why it had terminated temporary radio anchor Antoinette Lattouf over her Instagram posts sharing her stance on the Gaza scenario, per Pedestrian TV.
