With the case garnering national attention, there are many challenges.

The recent vigil for Savanah and Fabian had a much larger turnout than expected, and a similar response is expected at the funeral and burial.

Cordova expressed her concern, stating, "When I called her all morning she wasn't answering, was going straight to voicemail. We went to the hospital anyway. She was a no-show, and that's when I called the cops."

Cordova noted that her daughter's house was prepared for the baby's arrival and was in a clean state.

Cordova emphasized to KSAT, "This is not like her, She was so excited to have this baby. The house was already baby-ready."

As per police chief Bill McManus, detectives are meticulously examining cellphone and social media records, along with days' worth of surveillance footage from various locations where the victims were known to be.

"Detectives are hopeful that surveillance video will lead to the events leading up to their death," McManus stated.

While the police are not conclusively categorizing this incident as a murder-suicide, the chief acknowledged that "that possibility exists." Presently, the case is under investigation as a capital murder involving both victims.

Chief McManus expressed the gravity and tragedy of the situation, stating, "It was a heinous act, it was unspeakable, the tragedy of it."
