Savannah Guthrie clings to daughter's drawing in raw plea for missing mom: 'I need mommy'
TUCSON, ARIZONA: Savannah Guthrie is making another public appeal for answers in her mother’s disappearance, sharing her daughter's drawing that captures the family’s pain.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, November 1, the 'Today' co-host wrote that life appears to go on while her family cannot move forward.
Nancy Guthrie, Savannah's mother, has been missing for nine months, and investigators say no suspect has been arrested.
Savannah Guthrie shares daughter's heart-breaking drawing
Guthrie’s Instagram post featured an old drawing by her young daughter, which she said captured her own feelings about her missing mother.
The picture showed a blue umbrella surrounded by raindrops, alongside the child’s handwritten message: “I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.”
Guthrie said she had come across the drawing a few days earlier and felt it expressed what she had been struggling to put into words.
She acknowledged that life may appear to be carrying on as usual, as the family tries to remain strong, particularly for the younger children, but said the grief has not gone away.
Naming her siblings, their spouses, her husband and Nancy’s grandchildren, Guthrie described how deeply everyone was affected by her mother’s absence.
“We ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward,” she wrote.
She once again urged anyone who might have information about Nancy’s disappearance to speak up, stressing that the reward was still available.
“Please. We are begging you,” she said.
Describing her mother as “a light in this world,” Guthrie said the family wanted to celebrate her and ensure she received the dignity she deserved.
She also expressed gratitude to those who had supported them and asked people to continue praying.
The latest message follows several public appeals Guthrie has made since Nancy vanished.
She has previously addressed the case on her show and released a video message directed at the person responsible for her mother’s disappearance.

Nancy Guthrie case still unresolved
Despite two substantial rewards and months of investigation, authorities still have no confirmed answer about what happened to Nancy Guthrie.
The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Office said investigators traveled to Florida on October 30 to consult laboratory specialists about further DNA testing.
The case has involved several leads, but none has identified a suspect.
Gloves discovered around two miles from Nancy’s home yielded DNA belonging to a restaurant employee who investigators have said is not connected to the disappearance.
A hair sample recovered from inside the residence also failed to point to anyone. A ransom message that surfaced in September was later dismissed by authorities as not credible.

Nancy was last seen on January 31, after a relative dropped her at her Catalina Foothills home near Tucson, Arizona.
Her family alerted authorities the following day. Sheriff Chris Nanos has said investigators believe she was taken against her will.
In the weeks after she vanished, media outlets received ransom demands.
Investigators later shared surveillance images of a masked person outside Nancy’s front door and released the messages publicly, asking for help identifying their author.
The FBI and local sheriff’s investigators are jointly handling the case but have not found her or identified a suspect.
