NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sean Hannity revealed that a personal meeting with Senator John Fetterman at Mar-a-Lago led him to reassess his long-held views about the Democratic senator, admitting during a candid conversation that he had misjudged him.

During the exchange on 'Hang out with Sean Hannity' that premiered on Tuesday, March 17, Hannity openly reflected on how his perception of Fetterman shifted after interacting with him off-camera, a stark contrast to the criticism he had previously leveled on air.

Recalling the moment, Hannity said he approached Fetterman directly with an unexpected level of honesty.

Hannity recalled meeting Fetterman face-to-face at Mar-a-Lago as he spoke to him during the podcast.

“This is the untold story,” Hannity said.

“I walked up to you and I said, ‘Senator, very nice to meet you. You should hate me.”

He went on to explain that by that point, he had already begun to reconsider his earlier opinions.

“Everything I believed, thought about you and I really believed it was wrong,” Hannity admitted.

Before the meeting, Hannity acknowledged that he had strongly supported Fetterman’s political opponent and had been openly critical of the Pennsylvania senator.

“I was going hard at you on air,” Hannity said, referencing his past coverage.

Fetterman confirmed he was aware of the criticism but made it clear he did not take it personally. “Oh yeah,” Fetterman responded. “But I never really took it personal.”

The senator emphasized that direct, face-to-face conversations often lead to a better understanding between people with differing political views.

“When you actually have a chance to sit down and have conversations, that’s why I’m always committed to doing that,” Fetterman said.

Fetterman used the moment to highlight what he sees as a broader issue in modern political discourse- the lack of genuine conversation across ideological lines.

“I don’t have grudges,” he said. “I just want to have these conversations.”

He added that he appreciated the opportunity to appear on Hannity’s platform despite their past disagreements.

“I was actually happy to be on your show,” Fetterman said. “And now I’m just honored to be here too.”

Fetterman also praised Marco Rubio during the conversation with Hannity, noting he was the only Democrat to applaud Rubio at the SOTU.

Fetterman highlighted Rubio’s performance, saying he has handled challenges well and delivered a strong speech in Munich despite political differences.
