On Wednesday, December 11, Gomez, 32, announced her engagement to Blanco on Instagram with a series of romantic photos, including one that showcased their distinctive picnic outing.

The image in the post showed the 'Emilia Perez' star seated outdoors on a beige picnic mat, surrounded by blankets and a basket of food. Selena Gomez was casually dressed in a fur coat, jeans, and sneakers, enjoying a feast with multiple boxes of Taco Bell scattered on the blanket.

In Gomez's Instagram story, she revealed that the picnic appeared to be a sound stage setup, according to Buzzfeed.

For their first Valentine's Day, Blanco mentioned that he arranged Taco Bell for the occasion, as it was “her favorite thing.” He also rented out a movie theater and prepared his extra snacks, including deep-fried pickles.

"I go all out for every date We go all out for each other. One time Sel was like, 'Oh, I want to take you on a date.' We drove somewhere and she had rented out a whole botanical garden for me," he said.

The 'Open Wide' cookbook author added, "She also likes something so simple. For Valentine's Day, I got her Taco Bell, I made her movie-theater nachos, I found her favorite pickles from Texas and I deep-fried them for her. Then [I had] all her candies and Hot Cheetos."

In November, Blanco revealed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that he enjoys cooking for Gomez and has even learned to prepare homemade Taco Bell.

"[I learned how to] recreate Taco Bell meat," he said. "I've practiced a lot, and I think it's pretty indistinguishable now if you put them side by side. There's so many things you have to do. Part of the meat is kind of blended. It's disgusting, but it's delicious. I do it all from scratch."
