LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez is all about celebrating her love for music producer Benny Blanco even when the internet tries to stir things up.

The 'Only Murders in the Building' star, who confirmed her relationship with Blanco in December 2023, recently defended him after confusion arose over his appearance in People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" issue.

Though some mistakenly believed Blanco had been named the "Sexiest Man Alive", Gomez swiftly addressed the trolling, expressing her pride and admiration for her partner on Instagram.

During an interview with 'CBS Sunday Morning', Gomez reflected on Blanco's feature in the magazine and shared heartfelt thoughts about their relationship.

"It was very charming. I think, for me, I am beyond proud to know that there is someone in the world that deeply cares about every tiny detail about who I am and have someone support me, encourage me, inspire me and motivate me. It brings me a joy and more than anything, he's just my best friend and I'm really, really lucky."

In his People feature, Blanco opened up about their bond, revealing how much they value their mornings together.

“I’m a real morning person,” he said. “It’s my favorite time to spend with Sel because we both wake up really early. It’s like our moment before the rest of the world wakes up. I have a true best friend, and every day is the best day of my life.”

Benny Blanco, now famously known as Selena Gomez’s boyfriend, surprised fans with a candid story about how their romance began. During a live stream with YouTuber Kai Cenat, Blanco revealed that Gomez initiated their relationship, asking him out after years of friendship.

"She asked me out," Blanco shared enthusiastically. "Woah It was crazy, No It was crazy. She literally asked me like we were just talking and then she was like Oh You want to get dinner and like I went to dinner and I had no idea."

Blanco explained that the dinner led to a turning point in their relationship. “She had to leave early that night to film a video the next day, but two days later, we hung out again. That’s when it hit me—‘I think she likes me.’ So, I kissed her, and the rest is history,” he added.
