LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez is grateful for landing a role in ‘The Wizards of Waverly Place’ Disney series.

The singer-actress, who is reprising her famous Alex Russo role with a spin-off 'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place', opened up on her early TV days. 

"It's the best feeling in the whole world to be able to bring this back for you and to all the people who have never seen it before," Gomez said during the premiere on Monday, October 28.

Selena Gomez brings back nostalgia with Disney spin-off

Selena Gomez also mentioned her little sister Gracie, 11, who was also there at the event. “My sister included. I've made her watch it. I don't think she's that into it, but I was so genuinely happy to be able to just bring the nostalgia back," she said.

"This is what gave me everything that I have today, and I'll never forget that this is where I started," Gomez further credited the show which ran from 2007 to 2012, reports People

Answering about her popular character and its evolution over the years, Gomez said, "I personally think we kind of picked up where we left off and it shows a very established Justin and also a very established Alex and you're still curious about what they're going through, but it kind of felt like a rhythm we got back into."

David Henrie, the co-star who features as Gomez’ big brother Justin Russo on the show, added, "My character's a father now. I have children and I am in real life too, so it was a very organic maturation process in the show."

He further explained, "We want this show to be a love letter to you, a big warm hug, but also an invitation to pass the wand to a whole new generation.”

Since her famous Disney show, Gomez went on to establish herself as a prominent singer and showcased her acting skills with various projects, including 'The Dead Don't Die,' 'Dolittle,' and 'Only Murders in the Building.'
