'Not wartime consiglieres': John Kennedy warns Biden won't help Israel against Iran on 'Fox & Friends'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Host Brian Kilmeade was joined by Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) to discuss the Biden administration's foreign policy concerning the Middle East on the Wednesday, April 17, 2024, episode of 'Fox & Friends'.
While the senator was confident of Israel planning a response to Iran's April 13 drone attacks, he felt it was prudent for the ally nation not to expect significant support from the Biden administration, Fox News reported.
Sources had earlier revealed that President Joe Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the United States would not back any retaliatory actions against Iran over a tense late-night phone call on the day of the attack.
Senator John Kennedy's take on the Middle East situation
Senator John Kennedy was certain that Israel would respond to Iran's attacks, as he told Kilmeade, "That's how they've survived all these years… The message to their enemies has always been and has to be, if you hurt us, we will open you up like a soft peanut. That's deterrence 101."
"I think the response will be smart. I think it'll be strategic. I don't think Israel's going to take its eye off of the prize here," he continued, before adding, "Israel's got to destroy Hamas, and it's clear they're not going to get much help from President Biden."
"We've got to do to Hamas, what we did to Al-Qaeda and ISIS. … I'm sure it's apparent to the people of Israel that the people in the Biden administration, these folks are not wartime consiglieres... They're a lot more comfortable going on NPR and debating whether a man can breastfeed than they are... standing up to our enemies and Israel's enemies. It is what it is. We've seen that in the war in the Middle East, and we've seen that in Ukraine," Kennedy added.

Internet slams Biden admin after John Kennedy's statement
Viewers backed Senator John Kennedy in slamming Joe Biden regarding his Iran policy as the following comments on the Fox News website demonstrate.
"Joe Biden has been in Washington for 50 years and came to office with more foreign policy experience than any president in recent memory but unfortunately he has no memory of it," one social media user said.
"In the Middle East, Biden has pursued the Obama fantasy that Iran, under a radical regime bent on dominating the region and destroying Israel, can be reformed via 'enlightened' diplomacy and a large enough pile of cash," they added.
"Joe Biden helps Iran instead," commented another, noting, "Iran has made around $80 billion from its illicit oil sales since the Biden administration took office and relaxed Trump’s sanctions on the hardline regime, cash that has helped Tehran keep its terrorism active."
One individual wrote, "Biden will not do anything that doesn't make him or his party money or expanding their power. period."
"Not a fan of war, but Iran needs a smack down in a bad way," expressed another.
