Seth Rogen's unscripted roast of Trump at 2025 Breakthrough Prize ceremony edited out of 'full' stream

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Seth Rogen reportedly went off-script while co-presenting with Edward Norton at the 2025 Breakthrough Prize ceremony and roasted President Donald Trump and his MAGA administration for their attempt to "destroy all of American science."
Popularly known as the Oscars of Science, this year's ceremony took place at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica on April 5. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the jibe never made it to air as it was edited out of the official video that was streamed on YouTube a week later.

Seth Rogen's jibe at Donald Trump
Seth Rogen and Edward Norton were introduced by host James Corden to present the Special Breakthrough Prize in Physics at the ceremony’s 13th edition. The latter began by praising some of the biggest names in tech, including Breakthrough Prize co-founders Yuri Milner, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sergey Brin, for underwriting the awards.
However, Rogen quickly jumped in to take an apparent dig at past attendee and current White House adviser Elon Musk and Trump by saying, "And it’s amazing that others (who have been) in this room underwrote electing a man who, in the last week, single-handedly destroyed all of American science."

"It’s amazing how much good science you can destroy with $320 million and RFK Jr, very fast,” he continued, calling out Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F Kennedy Jr, who is known to be a vaccine skeptic.
The statements reportedly made Norton uncomfortable on stage, and he joked about the "light applause" that the ad-lib received.
“I’d say that’s a smattering,” Rogen quipped. He made another similar joke while describing the work of the physics prize winner, Gerardus ‘t Hooft of the University of Utrecht. Illustrating the concept of symmetry with a wheel, Rogen said that while it could roll either left or right, the crowd in the audience would "roll right."

Both of Rogen's jibes were edited out of the "full" event stream on YouTube, where the initial retort from Norton comes off as a reference to their stage entrance.
A spokesperson for the Breakthrough Prize Foundation told The Hollywood Reporter, "This year’s ceremony lasted longer than the prior few years, and several edits were made in order to meet the originally planned run time.”
