Shania Twain appears as talking tongue in the 'creepiest' 2025 Super Bowl commercial
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Shania Twain lent her voice to a talking, singing tongue in a Coffee Mate commercial that will air during the 2025 Super Bowl at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9.
The singer and Nestle collaborated to introduce the beloved company's new cold foam creamers, which will be available in French Vanilla, Italian Sweet Creme, and Nestle Toll House Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie flavors, as per The Mirror.
Shania Twain appears as talking tongue for Coffee Mate cold foam Super Bowl commercial
Nestle's Coffee Mate wants to outshine competitor Super Bowl commercials by using a celebrity's voice rather than a cameo.
Twain portrayed the voice of a multi-talented mouth appendage that sings, dances, plays a variety of instruments, and even flips in midair in a 30-second commercial for the non-dairy creamer's cold foam variant.
The commercial opens with a man and a companion watching TV. He sprays the cold foam in his beverage and he consumes the beverage while licking it from his lips.
This triggers his singing organ, which yells, "Let's go tongues!" and begins to spin and flip while performing.
The tongue then sings, "I'm a dancing tongue and I like the taste of cold foam" and "Have you ever seen a tongue do this?" The man and his companion frantically spray the chilled foam creamer into their mouths as the commercial comes to a close.
In a recent interview with Variety, Twain said, "You have to have a good sense of humor when you do something like that."
She also mentioned how much she liked singing the "boppy, poppy song" that marketing strategists came up with, which included the line, "Have you ever seen a tongue do this?"
Twain also told the outlet that she imagined "the joy of tasking this cold foam, and I really got into it" while assuming a "flirty" persona for the mouth muscle and viewing the "dancing tongue" as "liberated and agile."
In an interview with People, Twain said that her participation in the advertisement "made technical sense," particularly "on a nerdy level" because many are unaware of the muscle's complexity. The advertisement, she added, was "very fun."
Moreover, the 'You're The One' singer discussed the song 'Gimme Cold Foam' in the teaser she made for her partnership with the creamer company. The song will be accessible for purchase and streaming later in the month.
"The song itself is so catchy and fun and boppy. It was just like the ultimate pop bop, and it felt like something I wanted to get into just for the fun of it," the 'Up!' singer shared, adding, "I had to get the feeling, get my tongue around it, I guess you could say."
Fans grossed out by Shania Twain's talking tongue Super Bowl commercial
While Shania Twain considered the talking tongue Super Bowl commercial entertaining, some people found it disgusting and creepy.
One X (formerly Twitter) user said, "Creepiest commercial. Ick feeling after watching." Another wrote, "That is disgusting," as per The Mirror.
Despite this, one fan thought the commercial was fantastic. They wrote, "I admit it ....Only Shania could turn a tongue into a superstar! Can't wait to hear this "boppy" tune—sounds like a wild commercial!"
