Shania Twain praises Taylor Swift after missing her wedding: 'Love everything about her'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Shania Twain has shared her admiration for Taylor Swift as she appeared for an interview on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’. 

The Canadian singer also talked about being invited to the pop icon’s wedding with Travis Kelce, which she could not attend.

During the July 22 episode, when Fallon mentioned Swift, 36, and told Twain that the megastar always names you one of her inspirations, she replied, “She’s just beautiful.”

The legendary singer went on to say, “She’s a fabulous performer. If you wrote a song for her, it would be a hit no matter what. She does write her own song; she sits at her own home, plays the piano, plays the guitar. So, I admire her musicianship and her commitment to telling her stories.”

“I love her… I love everything about her,” Twain added.

Elsewhere during the interview, the ‘You're Still The One’ hitmaker also expressed her gratitude for being invited to the wedding of Swift and the NFL star on July 3 at Madison Square Garden.

Twain told the host, “I was very honored to be invited to Taylor’s wedding. And I will, you know, make a point of next time I see her. Of course I will give her a big congratulations, hug.”

This came after earlier the ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman!’ singer revealed the reason for missing the star-studded July 3 ceremony.

In an interview with Canadian outlet etalk, she said, “Taylor Swift invited me to her wedding, and I couldn't go because I was already committed to Harry's shows. That would have been really lovely for me to be there, but I was with Harry.”

“I would have done anything to be at Taylor's wedding; I would have done anything," Twain asserted.

Twain and Swift have always praised each other. In a TikTok video, the ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmaker had even credited her for her success.

Then in 2024, Twain told Haute Living that Swift “is living an exhausting existence, but she's dedicated and committed to herself, to her art, and her work. It isn’t even about ambition, though I’m sure that most people would call her ambitious.”

“She’s an extremely hard worker, and I’m sure she’s got giant goals. But it’s not all about ambition: it’s about passion and committing yourself to your passion. [Like Taylor], I was and am someone who does that, and that’s what really reaps rewards,” the 60-year-old icon added.
