Sharon Stone trolled as ex LAPD cops refute her claim of being whisked away during OJ Simpson chase
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former LAPD officers are casting doubt on actress Sharon Stone's recent claim that LAPD officers escorted her away from her home during the infamous OJ Simpson chase in 1994.
David Gascon, who served as a commander at the LAPD's Media Relations department during the OJ years, told TMZ that he has no recollection of such an incident occurring.
Sharon Stone's recollection of LAPD action during OJ Simpson case questioned
While Stone had no connection to Simpson, she told InStyle magazine that LAPD officers told her, “He’s dangerous. And we don’t know how dangerous, and we don’t know what this is," and she had 10 minutes to pack a suitcase to leave.
During her move into a hotel, Stone recalled that an officer watched near the reception area while another stood at her door while “OJ was driving up and down the f**king freeway.”
According to Stone, the LAPD also told her she couldn't go home and needed to "find a secure house behind a gate."
Gascon emphasized that he had never heard any reports or accounts of Sharon Stone's involvement until she mentioned it recently.
Tom Lange, lead LAPD detective on the OJ case, expressed skepticism about Sharon's claim and questioned why OJ would target her during the chase.
He asserted that if such an event had occurred, he would have been aware of it.
Some retired former LAPD officers also voiced skepticism about Stone's account, suggesting that her recent remarks may be tied to the upcoming 30th anniversary of the OJ Simpson case in June.
One retired officer, who worked in the South LA division in 1994, stated that he had no knowledge of any connection between Sharon Stone and OJ Simpson during the chase.
He questioned the plausibility of OJ having any reason to visit Sharon's house at that time, especially considering the extensive police pursuit he was involved in.
