Sofia Vergara's feisty comeback to interviewer's mockery of her accent garners applause on Internet
MADRID, SPAIN: Sofia Vergara, well-known for her role in 'Modern Family', encountered a difficult situation during an interview where the interviewer ridiculed her accent and the way she pronounced 'Modern Family.'
Despite this, fans enthusiastically supported Vergara as she responded with a spirited comeback.
In a separate development, Vergara recently generated headlines following her ex-husband Joe Manganiello's public appearance on December 9 with his new girlfriend, actress Caitlin O’Connor.
This marked Manganiello's first public outing since announcing his separation from Vergara after seven years of marriage, capturing attention in the media.
Sofia Vergara roasts interviewer after he makes fun of her accent
According to a report from Page Six, Vergara made an appearance on Tuesday's episode of the Spanish talk show 'El Hormiguero', where the host, Pablo Motos, poked fun at the way Vergara pronounced the title of her sitcom, 'Modern Family.'
As detailed by Page Six, Motos, speaking in Spanish, asked Vergara, "How do you say ‘Modern Family?’" This prompted a momentary pause from Vergara, who responded in Spanish, "I say it wrong? Oh, because you speak better English than me? Ah."
Page Six reports that Motos chuckled uncomfortably as Vergara, wearing a visibly displeased expression, looked away from him. Channeling her 'Modern Family' character Gloria, she narrowed her eyes and bluntly asked the interviewer, “How many Emmy nominations do you have in the United States? How many times did they nominate you at the Golden Globes?”

Vergara, known for her role as Gloria, has received four Emmy nominations and four Golden Globe nominations for her work on the ABC show.
In contrast, 'El Hormiguero' secured one Emmy nomination in the non-scripted entertainment category in 2011, but did not secure a win, as per Page Six.
While the media personality interviewing Vergara seemed somewhat embarrassed by her assertive questioning, Vergara appeared to brush it off with a smile.
Internet users call Pablo Motos a 'clown'
A user shared a GIF of Drake and wrote, "ATE HIM UP."
Another called Motos a 'clown' and wrote, "He is a clown, end of story, and sadly nothing new."
A user commented, "Imagine trying to play in Sofia Vergara’s face?! She clocked him."
