LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sandra Bullock has begun a "difficult" recovery process as she misses her long-time partner, model-turned-photographer Bryan Randall, a lot.

In August 2023, the 'Bird Box' actress suffered a tragic loss when her eight-year partner, Randall, unexpectedly passed away following a silent battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).

As reported by OK! Magazine, the 59-year-old actress is "not done healing — it’s only been seven months — but she’s ready to move on."

Sandra Bullock wants to 'let go' of the pain

Bullock, 59, met Randall in January 2015 when he took pictures of her son Louis' birthday. Later that year, they made an appearance at Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's wedding, further revealing their romance to the public.

Regarding Bullock's grief process, a source recently said to a news outlet, "Sandra's not done healing — it’s only been seven months — but she’s ready to move on."

Bullock called Randall the "love of her life," but the insider said 'The Proposal' star "would be open to finding love and starting over again".

Bullock effectively moved on after her acrimonious divorce from Jesse James in 2010, even though it didn't entail someone passing away.

In addition, the confidante claimed that before Randall died from the deadly motor neuron disease, also referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease, "Bryan wanted her to pick up the pieces and try to find a good guy".

"Sandra wants to let go of the pain and allow herself to love again," the informant stated, "but she’s had a hard time convincing herself she’ll ever find anyone else."

Bullock didn't start dating Randall until 2015—five years after she officially divorced James, her husband of five years. James had admitted to having multiple extramarital affairs and had previously described adultery as "part of life".

Sandra Bullock honors late partner's desires by dispersing his ashes in Wyoming

Bullock provides an update on how she has been handling Randall's death, less than three months after she scattered his ashes across one of the late photographer's favorite locations on what would have been his 58th birthday.

The sister of 'The Lost City' star, Gesine Bullock-Prado posted a video of a picturesque Wyoming river with the words, "Happy birthday, Bry. Sandy brought you to the river, just as she promised."

Bullock, mother to 13-year-old son Louis and 11-year-old daughter Laila, discussed marriage during an interview on 'Red Table Talk' in December 2021.

She remarked at the time, "I don't wanna say do it like I do it, but I don't need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don't need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don't need to be told to weather a storm with a good man."

Bullock never made a public statement regarding her partner's death, but her sister did confirm the tragic news in a somber social media post.

"I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon. ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home," she wrote at the time.

"Rest in peace, Bryan. In lieu of flowers, please donate to ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital."
