'She was my anchor': Brian Wilson heartbroken over loss of wife Melinda Ledbetter at 77

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brian Wilson has shared a very heartwrenching post announcing the death of his wife Melinda Ledbetter.

Melinda was 77 when she lost her life on January 30, TMZ reported.

Brian Wilson claims he and his children ‘are lost’

The reason for her passing remains unknown, but Brian shared on Instagram, “My heart is broken. Melinda, my beloved wife of 28 years, passed away this morning. Our five children and I are just in tears. We are lost.”

Calling his late wife his “savior,” the 81-year-old musician continued, “Melinda was more than my wife. She gave me the emotional security I needed to have a career. She encouraged me to make the music that was closest to my heart.”

He also mentioned, “She was my anchor. She was everything for us. Please say a prayer for her.”

Melinda Ledbetter’s children call her a force of nature

The same post also included a tribute from the pair’s adopted children — Daria Rose Wilson, Dakota Rose Wilson, Delanie Rae Wilson, and Dylan Wilson.

They began, “It is with a heavy heart that we let everyone know that our mom, Melinda Kay Ledbetter Wilson passed away peacefully this morning at home. She was a force of nature and one of the strongest women you could come by.”

“She was not only a model, our father's savior, and a mother, she was a woman empowered by her spirit with a mission to better everyone she touched. We will miss her but cherish everything she has taught us,” the children added.

The co-founder of ‘Beach Boys’ and Melinda had been married since 1995 until she died on January 30.

Brian was earlier married to singer Marilyn Wilson-Rutherford from 1964 to 1979.

‘This is so heartbreaking’

Following the announcement of the talent manager's passing, numerous individuals extended their condolences to the grieving family.

An Instagram user commented, “Our thoughts are with you and your family, Brian. So deeply sorry to hear of your loss. My deepest condolences.”

The second user wrote, “Brian, so sorry for your loss. We are all thinking of you, and your family at this time. We’re glad you and Melinda had each other.”

A user said, “This is so heartbreaking. I'm so very sorry to hear this.💔”

“Oh Brian, I can’t even imagine. my heart breaks for you and your family 💔 I’m so sorry for your loss. please know that all of us Beach Boy fans are thinking of you, your family, and everyone who loved Melinda. sending so much love to you all during this time. 🤍” one more user stated.

There were a few messages on Facebook as well as a person shared, “Thoughts and prayers 🙏 with his family and friends!!!! Sorry for your loss !!”

“It's gonna hurt hard,” added another one.
