Biles and Owens recently opened up about their journey in an interview on 'The Pivot' podcast. The newlyweds, who exchanged vows in April 2023, delved into the details of their first encounter, with Owens leading the conversation.

According to Entertainment Tonight , Owens shared how he came across the four-time Olympic gold medalist gymnast on the dating app Raya in 2020. He confessed, "I'm like, 'Lemme see who this is.' I never really paid attention to gymnastics. So it piqued my curiosity."

Owens provided additional context, explaining, "When she won the Olympics, I was in college, and we didn't have NBC, we didn't have Olympics channels, and we were in camp in late July, early August. So I'm not paying attention. I never had a moment where I would have watched."

He added, "I didn't know who she was at the time. But like, the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of followers. So in my mind I'm like, 'OK, she's got to be good'."

Detailing the initial communication, Owens disclosed, "She messaged me Tuesday, and then we were texting back and forth, and then we hung out Friday."

When asked by the host if he considered himself "the catch" in their relationship, Owens promptly agreed, stating, "I always say that the men are the catch."
